Technician

Whitney Kidd

During high school and most of college, Whitney worked as an assistant at a local veterinary hospital. In 1993, she earned a BA in English from Christopher Newport University, which led her down a different career path. After working for a government contractor for 10 years, she decided to return to her high school passion of working with animals. While working at Just Cats Veterinary Clinic, she attended the on-line Veterinary Technician program at NOVA CC and passed the licensing exam in 2009. When her twin daughters were born, she decided to take a break and focus on family. After a long sabbatical, she slowly integrated herself back into the veterinary field. She started out by volunteering at the local SPCA, then she worked on an as needed basis for a mobile vet. In 2021, she began working part-time at Ferry Farm Animal Clinic.  Her interests include feline medicine, behavior, neurology, oncology and internal medicine. She has 2 dogs, 3 cats, 7 fish, and one snail.
