Dental X-Rays
Dental X-rays allow us to detect hidden problems below the gumline, ensuring your pet receives the most accurate and effective dental care possible.

Overview
Dental X-rays are an essential part of comprehensive veterinary dental care. Just like in human dentistry, many dental issues in pets occur below the gumline, where they can’t be seen during a standard oral exam. Dental radiographs allow us to see the roots of the teeth, the bone surrounding them, and detect issues such as infections, fractures, resorptive lesions, and periodontal disease that may not be visible to the naked eye.
These X-rays are typically performed while your pet is under anesthesia, ensuring they stay still and comfortable while we capture high-quality images. This process is safe and allows us to thoroughly evaluate each tooth, helping us make informed decisions about treatment. It also helps us determine whether a tooth can be saved or if extraction is the best course of action.
By including dental X-rays as part of routine dental cleanings or when a problem is suspected, we can catch issues early—often before your pet shows any outward signs of discomfort. This proactive approach helps keep your pet’s mouth healthy and pain-free, which contributes to their overall well-being.
